Obituary for Betty L. Shimburski
Betty L. Shimburski of Chaffee, NY passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at the age of 93.
She was born January 25, 1929 in Holland, NY a daughter of the late Raymond and Jenny Letha (Zimmer) Spaulding.
She worked at the Holland Elementary School as the Cafeteria Manager for 10 plus years. She was a member of St. Jude's Church in Sardinia.
Betty enjoyed square dancing, sewing, knitting, and crocheting.
She is survived by her children: Ruth (James) Hime of Hilltop Lakes, TX, Donna (Jack) Wimbish of Hilltop Lakes, TX, Bill (Sherry) Shimburski of Holland, Patricia (Robert Patterson) Hills of Buffalo; her grandchildren: Stacy Pagan, Cathy Kirk, Justin (Nicolette) Detrick, Kendra Maness, Michelle (Brett) Ferrington, and Michael Shimburski; she is also survived by ten great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her husband of 74 years, Richard Shimburski whom she married September 27, 1947 at St. Aloysius Church in Springville, a daughter: Carol (Dennis) Hardison, and siblings; Lyle (Norma) Spaulding and Morris (Marlene) Spaulding.
Friends may call Thursday, July 7, 2022 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM at the Smith-Weismantel Funeral Home, 271 E. Main Street, Springville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, July 8, 2022 at 11AM at St. Aloysius Church, 190 Franklin Street, Springville with Father Daniel Fawls officiating. Burial will be held in the Sardinia Cemetery.
