Obituary for Gerald F. Guenther
Gerald F. Guenther of Holland, NY passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at the Gowanda Rehabilitation & Nursing Center at the age of 86.
He was born October 4, 1936 in Buffalo, NY a son of the late Fred and Bernice (Savage) Guenther.
He was a self-employed farmer and woodworker and owned and operated Maple View Farm in Holland. Gerald earned his living by making wood stakes in his sawmill for his last 30 years supporting local construction companies.
He loved animals, especially cows. He enjoyed working on the farm and raising Guernsey cattle. In his more recent years, he enjoyed woodworking and woodturning where he would make items such as bowls. He was also a chainsaw carver.
Gerald was a member of the Holland and Springville United Methodist Church and was also a United States Army Veteran.
His wife, Lorraine (Mount) Guenther whom he married in 1963, passed away in 1994.
He is survived by his sister, Marilyn Guenther of Rochester and several cousins.
There will be no calling hours. A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date. A Private Interment will be held in Holland Cemetery.
