Obituary for Henry J. "Hank" Farner
On November 11, 2022, Henry J. Farner (age 85) of West Valley passed peacefully and returned to the Lord.
He was a founding member and devoted supporter of Our Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church that was located in Springville. At the time of his passing, he was an active member of the Ashford Trinity Lutheran Church in West Valley. As a longtime member of the Springville Lion’s Club, he was always quick to lend a hand and touched many in the community. Henry was also an avid hunter, fisherman, and all-around outdoorsman. He will be sorely missed.
Henry was the husband of the late Suzanne Ruth (Owen); Father of: Jeremy (Joshua), Dean (Kimberly) Rumfola, Mike McEwen, Cynthia Szustak; Loving Step-father of Karen (Michael) Lerminiaux, Sherry Crawford, Kevin (Michelle) Call, and the late Thomas Call.
Brother of the late John (Peggy), Ralph (Betty), Robert (Chloe), Ronald (Nancy), and Dorothy (Bruce) Gerber.
He is survived by 9 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
The family will be accepting visitors at the Smith-Weismantel Funeral Home, 271 E. Main Street, Springville, NY on Saturday, December 3rd from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, where a Memorial Service will follow.
A Celebration of Life will be held immediately following the service from 1:00pm - 5:00pm at the Springville First United Methodist Church, 474 E. Main Street, Springville, NY 14141.
Donations to be used toward a memorial in Henry’s name will be accepted at the visitation and Celebration of Life.
