Obituary for Janis J. Lathrop
Janis J. Lathrop of Orchard Park, NY passed away April 13, 2022 at Hospice of Buffalo at the age of 87.
She was born May 2, 1934 a daughter of the late Roderick and Bonita (Bondelow) Joslin.
Janis worked as a Speech Pathologist at the League of the Handicapped in Springville, NY, during her career she worked within a number of Schools in the area. She was a past member of the 1st Presbyterian Church in Springville where she served as a Deacon.
She was very active in her community and loved helping people. She enjoyed spending time with her great-grandson.
She is survived by her daughter: Tamara (Christopher Croakman) Collins of Springville; her sister: Laurie (Bob) Muhlbauer of Springville; her grandson: Steven (Justin Steger) Collins; great-grandson: Jacob Lucas Collins. She is also survived by a niece, Maria (Chris Campbell) Muhlbauer and nephew, Andy Muhlbauer.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband - Loren Lathrop whom she married in Springville, NY and a daughter, Lin Lathrop.
Friends may call Tuesday, April 19, 2022 from 1-3PM at the Smith-Weismantel Funeral Home, 271 E. Main Street, Springville, where a Memorial Service will follow at 3PM. Burial will be held in the Maplewood Cemetery.
