Obituary for Jean M. MacDiarmid
Jean M. MacDiarmid of North Tonawanda, NY passed away Friday, November 25, 2022 at Buffalo General Hospital at the age of 92.
She was born March 24, 1930 in Buffalo, NY a daughter of the late Frederick and Mildred (Ihrig) Ehrenberg.
Jean worked at the Lavender Lantern in Springville, NY as the antique buyer for many years.
She was a 50+ year member of the Loyal Order of the Women of the Moose, from which she earned her Green Cap. She also served as the Music Chairwoman for the Dairy Fest in Springville. During her free time she loved spending time with her family.
Her husband, Harold MacDiarmid, whom she married May 24, 1952 in Buffalo, NY precedes her in death.
Jean is survived by her children: Dean (Kristina) MacDiarmid of North Tonawanda, Glenn MacDiarmid of Cheektowaga; a granddaughter: Kourtney (Harold) Owen; her great-grandchildren: Lennon-Anne, Ellason, Cierra, Phillip, and Harold. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her son, Shawn MacDiarmid.
There will be no prior calling hours. A Funeral Service will be held Friday, December 2, 2022 at 11am at the Smith-Weismantel Funeral Home, 271 E. Main Street, Springville, NY.
