Obituary for Jean R. Wells
Jean R. Wells of West Valley, NY passed away May 27, 2022 at The Pines Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Machias at the age of 94.
She was born December 21, 1927 in West Valley, NY a daughter of the late Howard and Anne (Blohm) Ehman.
She was a homemaker and had also worked at Robinson Knife Company in Springville in her younger years.
She loved cooking, gardening, playing Euchre, bowling, and spending time with her family. She never missed any family sporting events and was a member of the Springville Ladies Auxiliary.
Her husband, George Wells who she married on May 18, 1946 passed away on August 28, 2001.
She is survived by her children: Michael (Rosanne) Wells of Springville, David (Sandy) Wells of West Valley, Gerald (Michelle) Wells of West Valley; her grandchildren: Patrick Wells, Chelsye (Tim) Zerfas, Derek Wells, Brittany Wells, Samantha Green, and Ricky Fitzgerald; two great-grandchildren: Archer and Aurora. She is also survived by her son-in-law, Richard Fitzgerald.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Lori (Wells) Fitzgerald and her brother Ronald (Margaret) Ehman.
Friends may call on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, from 2-4PM and 6-8PM at the Smith-Weismantel Funeral Home, 271 E. Main Street, Springville. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Springville Volunteer Fire Department, 405 W. Main Street, Springville, NY 14141, or to the West Valley Fire Department, Route 240, West Valley, NY 14171.
