Obituary for Joan M. Taylor
Joan M. Taylor of Springville, NY passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at her residence at the age of 78.
She was born July 16, 1944 in Buffalo, a daughter of the late Leroy and Margaret (Zimmerer) Wiedemann. She was a member of the St. Aloysius Church in Springville and served as an Eucharistic minister. She helped organize the Springville Dairy Festival for 29 years and provided ad-craft for several of the local school. She also had a passion for gardening.
Her husband, Jerry Taylor, who she married in 1965 in Springville, passed away in 2006.
Joan is survived by her sons: Kevin (Heather), Scott (Cheaven), Eric (Terry) and Jamie Taylor all of Springville; her siblings: Lee (Sandy) Wiedemann of Springville, Larry Wiedemann of Machias and Joyce (Don) Osmack of St. Louis, MO; also survived by eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Joan is preceded in death by her brother, Jesse Wiedemann and her grandson, Patrick.
Friends may call on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 from 1-3pm and 5-8pm at the Smith-Weismantel Funeral Home, 271 E. Main St., Springville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at 11am at the St. Aloysius Church, 190 Franklin St., Springville with Rev. Daniel Fawls officiating. Interment will be held in the St. Aloysius Cemetery, Springville.
