Obituary for Kathryn E. Lipka
Kathryn E. Lipka of Springville, NY passed away Monday, February 14, 2022 at Buffalo General Hospital at the age of 76.
She was born September 17, 1945 in Washington, D.C. a daughter of the late Albert and Irene Garry.
For 27 years she worked as a Dietitian at the Concord Senior Center. She was an active member at St. Aloysius Church in Springville.
Kathryn loved to volunteer in her community as well as taking care of her Senior Citizen friends. It is because of the work she did at the Senior Center that she was once the recipient of the Citizen of the Year award. She loved spending time with her family and never missed any of her Grandsons sporting events. She enjoyed birds, horses and collecting antiques. She was also an avid Buffalo Bills fan.
She is survived by her husband, David Lipka whom she married June 24, 1964 at St. Aloysius Church in Springville; her daughters: Barbara Lipka of Hamburg and Susan (Matthew) Bunch of Springville; her grandsons: Trevor, Rhett and Gavin Bunch. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Friends may call Friday, February 18, 2022 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM at the Smith-Weismantel Funeral Home, 271 E. Main Street, Springville, NY. A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 11AM at St. Aloysius Church, 190 Franklin Street, Springville, NY with Father Daniel Fawls officiating.
