Kenneth "Ken" A. Lounsbury of Boston, NY passed away Saturday, June 17, 2023 at his residence at the age of 68.
He was born April 27, 1955 in Springville, NY. He was a Construction Superintendent for Kirst Construction in North Boston, NY for 37 years, and had also been a Mason by trade. There was never a day where he wasn’t up for some hard work, and he put his heart and soul into every project. Ken was a devoted and remarkable man. A husband of 49 years to the love of his life, Karen. A dedicated father to his girls, Christine and Kelly. Ken’s favorite project was being a Papa to his four grandkids. He loved his family and spending time going fishing. He was known for being quiet, yet powerful, and gentle, but tough as nails. A limb has fallen from our family tree…
He is survived by his wife, Karen (DeYoung) Lounsbury, whom he married January 12, 1974 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in West Falls, NY. He is also survived by his children: Christine (Chris) Buczek of Springville, and Kelly (Karl) Sheffield of West Valley; grandchildren: Justin A Buczek MMFN (machinist mate with the US Navy), Jason Buczek (following his Papa’s footsteps in the construction field), and Sarah Sheffield (attending law school in the fall) and Jessica Sheffield (playing softball at Gannon University, Ken never missed a game). Ken was very proud of all of his grandkids. He made an impact on so many, including his son-in-laws (Christopher and Karl) who looked up to him.
Friends may call on Thursday, June 22, 2023 from 3-6pm at the Smith-Weismantel Funeral Home, 271 E. Main St. Springville, NY, followed by a Memorial Service at 6PM with Rev. Donald Francis officiating.
In lieu of flowers, he lived his life helping others and would like for everyone to do something nice for someone else in memory of him.
