Obituary for Robert J. "Bob" Zwack

Robert J. "Bob" Zwack of Boston, New York passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at the Buffalo VA Medical Center at the age of 78.

He was born March 29, 1944 in Buffalo, New York a son of the late Richard M. and Caroline (Klee) Zwack.

Prior to his retirement he worked at Valley Fab & Equipment in Boston, NY. He was a United States Army Vietnam Veteran serving from 1965-1967.

He was a member of the Boston Amvets Post 219, Eden American Legion, VFW, and was a 50+ year member of the Boston Volunteer Fire Department.

He loved cooking BBQ chicken no matter what it was for. He was fondly known around the area as "Bob the chicken man".

He is survived by his loving wife - Paulette (Ulrich) Zwack, whom he married July 13, 1968 at St. Mary's Church in New Oregon; his children: Paul (Beth) Zwack of Perry, NY, and Kathleen (Dale) Bovat of Maryland; his siblings: Rosemarie (late William) Stang of Hamburg, Richard (Donna) Zwack of Tonawanda, Ruth Zwack of Boston, Herbert (Donna) Zwack of Eden, John (Mary) Zwack of Florida, and Anne (David) Gangloff of Depew; his granddaughters: Natalee and Nicole Zwack. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call Monday, October 3, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8pm for memorial calling hours at the Smith-Weismantel Funeral Home, 271 E. Main Street, Springville, NY 14141. A Memorial Mass will be held Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at 10am at St. John the Baptist Church, 6895 Boston Cross Rd, Boston, NY 14025.
