Obituary for Shirley Haddad-Schoo

Shirley I. Haddad (Schoo) of Springville, NY passed away peacefully at home in her sleep on October 10th, 2022 at the age of 95.

Shirley was born September 16th, 1927 in Williamsport, PA, daughter of the late Helen and Vernard Jones. She attended Bloomsburg State Teachers College where she met her future husband Dyar (Pat) Haddad. Shirley and Pat married in 1950 and they moved to Springville in 1956. Besides being a devoted housewife and caretaker, Shirley also did the bookkeeping for the Haddad Agency Inc. from its inception until 1977. In 1981, widowed at the age of 53, Shirley became an adventurous traveler including cruising around the world, riding camels, visiting the Taj Mahal and standing on the Great Wall of China and walking the black beaches of Hawaii. Shirley enjoyed golf, bowling, dancing and took up tennis in her 60s. Shirley was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Springville and served as an elder.

Shirley married fellow snowbird, Frank Schoo in 1990 and resided between FL and Canada until 2011, when widowed for the second time, she returned to Springville until her passing.

Shirley is survived by her two children, Greg and Holly Haddad; two grandchildren, Gregory Jr. and Casey Haddad, brother Richard Jones as well as several nieces and nephews (incl grand and great grand).

The family would like to express their gratitude to all of the many folks who assisted in allowing Shirley to stay at home throughout her journey through dementia. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Associate or donations to the Springville Methodist Church's respite program. A private service will be held at the family's convenience.
