Obituary for Theresa V. Schmitt
Theresa (Terry) V. Schmitt passed away on March 9, 2022.
The daughter of the late Edward and Victoria (Chmielewski) Czarnecki, Terry was born in Buffalo, NY on December 21, 1933.
She is survived by her children: Susan (Lawrence) Feldman of West Valley, NY, Peggy (Paul) Baker of Rochester, NY, James (Elaine) Schmitt of Fairport, NY, Kathy (late Rick) Yelle of West Valley; her grandchildren: Steven Feldman, Laurel (Franco) Tarulli, Joshua (Denise) Baker, Sarah (John Schulz) Baker, Tim Schmitt, Amy (Michael) Roche, Elizabeth (Corbin) Henderson; she is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Amelia, Beatrice Tarulli, Lucas, Clara Schulz, David, Natalie, Alexandra Roche and Anna Henderson.
A paralegal for most of her adult life, Terry worked for Charles M. Harrigan, Jr. for 50 years.
She was also a trustee and long time member of the Ashford Historical Society and secretary of the West Valley Chamber of Commerce.
Terry was a very active parishioner of St. John the Baptist RC Church in West Valley.
Terry enjoyed visiting with family and friends. From the moment one stepped through her doorway Terry made anyone and everyone feel welcome and comfortable in her home.
She was the kind of Mom who was always there for us - as kids and adults. We will cherish her forever.
Friends may call Wednesday, March 16, 2022 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM at the Smith-Weismantel Funeral Home, 271 E. Main Street, Springville. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday, March 17, 2022 at St. John the Baptist RC Church at 11AM, 5381 Depot Street, West Valley. The burial will be held in St. John the Baptist Cemetery in West Valley.
