Obituary for Wayne E. Hawkins
Wayne E. Hawkins of Springville, NY passed away Sunday, May 8, 2022 at his residence at the age of 87.
He was born August 14, 1934 in Gowanda, NY a son of the late Leslie and Marion (Parkinson) Hawkins.
He worked as a Machinist at Westinghouse Electric Corporation in Cheektowaga for 30+years.
He was a Member of the Knights of St. John 408 and a Member of St. Aloysius Church.
He is survived by his wife - Dorothy (nee Earl) Hawkins, whom he married at St. Aloysius Church in Springville on August 28, 1954; his children: Laura (Thomas) Lamphear of Delaware, Thomas (Jolene) Hawkins of Springville, and Bonnie Hawkins of Springville; his sister: Julia Rose (late George) Dunn of South Carolina; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his sons - Gary Wayne and Gregg Charles Hawkins. He is also preceded in death by his siblings - Phillip Hawkins, Patricia Taylor, and William Hawkins.
Friends may call Tuesday, May 10, 2022 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM at the Smith-Weismantel Funeral Home, 271 E. Main Street, Springville, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at 11AM at the St. Aloysius Church, 190 Franklin Street, Springville, NY with Rev. Daniel Fawls officiating. Burial will be held in the St. Aloysius Cemetery.
Due to a flower allergy, the family requests that in lieu of flowers a donation be made to a charity of your choosing in memory of Wayne.
